What is a Personal Assistant & Concierge Service?
A Single Ray of Hope
is personal and individualized assistance for the home or business.  It is a service for busy people, executives; families and businesses or corporations with the intent of handling the day-to-day projects or special events for you.  All work is handled promptly, professionally and in the manner and time that you want them done.  The following information shows the diversity of our services. 

For the business.....Reservations, travel arrangements, calendar management, organizing, planning and coordinating meetings/conferences/special events, gift purchasing, running errands, mailings, and office or computer work.  It’s having the benefit of having a person help on an as-needed basis but not having to hire them as an employee or pay employment taxes.
   

For business/corporations…..Employers provide this service benefit for employees to help retention and boost morale which results in employees to be less stressed and able to focus on work while at work.  Running errands, shopping, meal deliveries, taking pets to the vet, and waiting service for home services are just a few ideas.
   

For the home…..Reservations, travel arrangements, organization, gift shopping, managing calendars, running errands, food shopping, party planning/set-up/clean-up, waiting service for home servicing, serve as liaison for service agencies such as housekeeper, lawn care, repairman; and vacation check-in service are just a few ideas of how we can help you.
  

For the special occasions…..Weddings:  What would it be like to have your own Personal Assistant to travel the wedding planning journey with you to ease the process?  On your special day, we can handle all the issues that arise so a member of your family or wedding party don't have to.
 

Anniversaries, Birthdays, Cocktail Dinners:  Leave the reservations, planning, gifts, decorations, set-up and clean-up to us.  We can handle the details for you so that you can focus on enjoying the special occasion.

What if assistance is needed for a service not listed?
Our business is about personal attention to our clients needs.  The services listed are merely a brief view of the work that can be provided.  Services are only limited by your imagination.  We encourage you to let us know your need and chances are we can accommodate you.  If we are unable to meet your needs, we will do our best to refer you to another provider.

What are the main benefits of using your services?

What is your service area?
Our service area is Portage/Kalamazoo, Michigan and the surrounding area.  Service can be provided outside this area; however, a mileage fee will be added for work performed outside of the 20 mile service area of Portage.

 

Unlimited service area for computer work that can be sent via the internet or parcel post for typing projects such as data entry, manuscripts, thesis, or reports.

 

How do I order services?
You can call 269-720-7605 to discuss your needs or send an email to Marybeth@ASingleRayofHope.com.  We will promptly provide you with an email which includes project estimate and payment terms as well as a service agreement.  If you do not have access to email, other arrangements can be made. 

Are there membership fees or long-term contracts?
We do not require a long-term contract or charge membership fees.  Our services are personalized to meet the varied needs of our clients whether it is a one-time situation or a short or long-term need.  However, we do require clients to sign a service agreement before the start of any project.  Clients will not be asked to sign multiple service agreements for recurring, similar services unless the terms change. 

How much does this service cost? 
Rates are charged on an hourly basis for infrequent needs or a package rate for needs that require a larger block of time.  Package rates are set on a graduated scale which provides the most economical rate for the larger blocks of time.  The rates for services range from $22-$25 per hour for routine work.  Rates for non-routine may vary.  We encourage you to call for no-obligation project estimate.

  

Costs for merchandise purchased at the client’s request or services arranged through us but provided by other vendors are separate and are the client’s responsibility. 

Are Gift Certificates available for purchase?
Yes!  Gift Certificates are available for all package types.  Give the Gift of Time to your family, friends, employees and co-workers.  Call 269-720-7605 to purchase this perfect gift.

How do you handle collecting money for purchases?
Money for purchases is required in advance.  Clients that require purchases on a regular basis are encouraged to provide a limited credit card for such purchases.  These credit cards are available at most credit unions/banks and are often used for gift giving and can be allotted for very limited amounts.

How does the billing process work?
Payment for services is due upon completion of services unless otherwise arranged.  Certain situations may require payment in advance.  Payments can be made in cash, check, money order or A Single Ray of Hope gift certificates. 

How much advance notice is needed for requesting service?
We request and appreciate 24-48 hours notice for scheduling purposes.  We understand that advance notice is not always possible so we will always strive to meet your needs.
 

Our regular business hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.  Services are available at other times by appointment and a higher rate may be charged.  We are closed on all major holidays. 

What if I need to cancel a service?
A cancellation notice of 24 – 48 hours is requested.  If no notice is given, a charge of $20 will apply.  Cancellations will not be allowed once perishable items have been purchased.
